Sports Awards Evening

On Thursday 24th November 2016, Cirencester Kingshill School celebrated their annual Sports Awards Evening. 170 awards were presented to pupils for outstanding achievement and most improved performances in School sport.

Kingshill welcomed professional Rugby star Mat Gilbert to present the awards in front of an audience of over 400 pupils, parents and guests. During an interview with James Newman, a Year 11 School Sports Captain, Mat spoke openly about his experiences that proved inspiring and entertaining.

Miss Christine Oates, Headteacher and Mr Paul Hamblin, Head of Physical Education were honoured to share with the audience Kingshill’s various sporting events and achievements that have taken place over the last 12 months.  Miss Rosanna Steel, Physical Education Teacher and Mr Adrian Thomas, Deputy Headteacher encouraged our pupils, reiterating the importance of taking part in physical activity and the power of sport to engage and inspire.

Awards were also presented to pupils who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and responsibility as Sports Leaders within the School and the community. Year 11 pupils Samuel Pauling and Samuel Lomas received the Leadership Cup and James Newman was honoured with the Sports College Plate, the main award of the evening.

Mrs Amy Hussey, Physical Education Teacher and Mr Paul Hamblin shared the Sports Coach of the Year Shield, concluding another successful evening at Kingshill School.
